Aswan in four days
Four days is three days for the city plus a full day for Abu Simbel, with the evening after it deliberately empty. That empty evening is not padding — a pre-dawn departure and a three-to-four-hour drive each way is a genuinely long day and anything scheduled after it will be wasted.
Morning — Exactly the three-day plan, unchanged.
Afternoon — Do not compress it to make room — the fourth day is additional, not a reshuffle.
Evening — Go to bed early on night three.
Morning — Depart before sunrise by road, or fly. Two hours on site is the usual allowance and it is enough if you spend it well.
Afternoon — Back in Aswan by early afternoon at the earliest.
Evening — Nothing at all. This is a rule, not a suggestion.
Lake Nasser, Kom Ombo overland, and a night at Abu Simbel — all of which are the reason to consider five days.
The fourth day costs you an early alarm and buys you the thing most people come to Egypt for. Whether it is worth it depends mostly on how you choose to go.
This is the complete first visit. If you can stretch to a night in Abu Simbel instead of the day trip, do — it is the single biggest upgrade available in this itinerary and almost nobody takes it.
